Greetings, fellow adventurers! Welcome back to another thrilling episode of Trader Steve's journey across Gielinor, where we’re on a relentless quest to amass rare items and ultimately secure the coveted Quest Cape. In this episode, we dive into the exciting progression of unlocking new chunks, acquiring valuable items, and conquering key quests. So, buckle up as we explore the intricate path from rare drops to the grand achievement of Desert Treasure 1!
A Major Milestone: The Fang Drop
Our story begins with a significant achievement: Trader Steve finally obtained the coveted Ahrim's Fang after over 50 raids. This rare item not only bolstered our OSRS gold stack to a remarkable 40 million coins but also set the stage for our next moves. With such a substantial amount of wealth, the question arises: How should we best utilize it?
The answer lies in investment and strategic chunk unlocking. Trader Steve's goal is to complete the Desert Treasure 1 quest, a crucial step that unlocks access to several valuable game elements, including Ancients magic and the next phase of content. But first, let’s delve into the specifics of what needs to be done to reach this milestone.
Investing in Key Equipment
One of the first investments made with our newfound wealth was purchasing the Amulet of Torture for around 10 million coins. Although the Fury has served us well with its defensive bonuses, the Torture provides a significant boost to our offensive capabilities, making it a valuable upgrade for future content.
With the amulet purchased, the next item on our agenda was to tackle the quest requirements for Desert Treasure 1. Two critical quests needed completion: the Dig Site Quest and the Waterfall Quest. To begin, we opted to tackle the Waterfall Quest, primarily because it required fewer chunk unlocks compared to the Dig Site Quest.
Unlocking Chunks and Completing Quests
To start the Waterfall Quest, Trader Steve had to unlock specific chunks, including the area near Gladeral's Tomb. This step was necessary to gain access to the Waterfall and its associated content. The quest itself was relatively straightforward and yielded some experience, which, although not immediately useful, was a step closer to reaching our goal of 150 quest points for Recipe for Disaster.
Next up, we acquired the Gilded Spade and the Dharok's Armor Set, each costing around 4 million coins. These items are not only useful for their intended purposes but also serve as a stepping stone toward unlocking additional content and completing further quests.
With the Gilded Spade and armor set in hand, we moved on to unlocking the Northern Dig Site chunk, which was crucial for the Dig Site Quest. The completion of this quest was essential to access Fossil Island, another key area needed for future progression.
Completing Desert Treasure 1
With both critical quests completed, Trader Steve was finally ready to embark on Desert Treasure 1. This quest involves multiple locations and challenges, including:
• The Smoke Dungeon: Home to dust devils, which presented an interesting Slayer task. Fortunately, Trader Steve managed to acquire the required crystal on the first attempt.
• Moranian Locations: These were already unlocked, so Trader Steve could proceed without additional chunk unlocks.
• Northern Trollheim: Trader Steve had to unlock two chunks here, one being largely useless post-quest but necessary for completing the quest’s requirements.
By unlocking these areas, Trader Steve also gained access to the God Wars Dungeon, a significant milestone for both future content and efficient money-making strategies.
Profitable Magic Training
With Desert Treasure 1 completed, Trader Steve now had access to Ancients magic, opening up lucrative money-making methods such as Ancient Teleport Tablets. Crafting these tablets proved to be a profitable venture, with each inventory yielding around 50,000 coins. Although the running involved was a bit cumbersome, the profitability and additional magic experience made it worthwhile.
To optimize the process, Trader Steve utilized the Feror Scepter for teleportation. Despite its limited charges, it proved effective when combined with recharges at Pyramid Plunder. Although the method involved frequent recharges and some inconveniences, it was a significant improvement over previous teleportation methods.
Further Progress and Upgrades
As Trader Steve continued to craft Ancient Teleport Tablets, he also focused on increasing his Magic level, aiming for the 90s to improve efficiency and damage output. The purchase of a Verac's Mask further enhanced Trader Steve’s magic damage bonus, complementing the use of Ancients spells.
With progress steadily advancing, Trader Steve set his sights on achieving a higher Magic level and investing in gear that would further bolster his combat capabilities. The combination of money-making with Ancient Teleport Tablets and training Magic through bursting made for a productive and rewarding strategy.
