MLB The Show 25: Cleans Up Franchise Mode, Player Models

The twelfth major update for MLB The Show 25 has just dropped, focusing less on gameplay and more on enhancing the overall experience across Franchise Mode, Road to the Show, and visual authenticity. Released on Saturday morning, this patch emphasizes bug fixes and cosmetic improvements rather than gameplay mechanics or balance changes.

Game Mode Fixes

Franchise Mode

Franchise Mode once again takes center stage in this patch with two important quality-of-life improvements:

·Created Stadium Loading Fix: Players were sometimes loading into the wrong created stadium when resuming from an in-game save. This issue has been resolved.

·Roster Auto-Release Bug: The CPU was previously releasing players when the roster exceeded 93 players, disrupting team construction. This has now been fixed to maintain roster integrity.

Road to the Show (RTTS)

A single fix was deployed for RTTS:

·Catcher Tutorial Trigger: The "Ball in Dirt" tutorial had an incorrect activation point for players using the catcher position. That's now fixed to ensure proper tutorial flow.

These updates enhance realism and bring the roster's visual accuracy more in line with the 2025 MLB season.

Equipment Model Updates

This is the first batch of equipment model tweaks since launch, updating textures and shapes for greater in-game realism:

·44 Pro Fielding Glove- PRX

·44 Pro Fielding Glove- PRO44

·Adidas Adizero Impact Silver Cleat

·Evoshield Carbyne Batting Gloves

·Franklin Vanilla Batting Gloves

Uniforms

·Boston Red Sox Connect Uniforms: The Red Sox's new 2025 Connect uniform has been added to the game as part of the ongoing rollout of updated MLB kits.

Esports & Gameplay Impact

This update doesn't directly affect competitive gameplay mechanics. However, the improved player likenesses and polished gear visuals boost immersion, especially for esports broadcasts and high-stakes RTTS sessions.

The only gameplay-affecting fix is the catcher tutorial correction in RTTS, which might slightly impact players grinding that path.

Final Thoughts

Two months after launch, MLB The Show 25 is entering a post-launch maintenance phase. While major gameplay overhauls may be behind us, continued polish, especially in visuals and quality-of-life fixes, shows that San Diego Studio is committed to maintaining authenticity and immersion throughout the season.
